Activities for home-bound seniors

Do you know a senior who is home-bound? This is an important topic in elder care NJ. With more and more baby boomers entering retirement, the numbers of those who are home-bound will continue to increase. Chronic illnesses, disabilities, and dementia are just a few reasons seniors become tied to their homes. It’s important for these folks to remain active, regardless of their location. Art & Music Therapy for Alzheimer’s Sufferers

Co-owner and director Nora de Cárdenas has written an article entitled “Art & Music: Breaking Through the Barriers of Alzheimer’s Disease” in the Mercer County Woman newspaper. She discusses how music therapy can help those with dementia to experience more joy and help them to feel more at ease. She also explores how Art Therapy can be beneficial to the person with memory issues.

November is Alzheimer’s Disease Awareness Month

Our Community Resource Bulletin for the month of November focuses on National Alzheimer’s Awareness Month. Did you know that 5.3 million people have Alzheimer’s Disease in the U.S.? Contrary to what many think, memory loss is not a normal part of aging.
