Help combat mental decline by drinking hot chocolate

A recent report showed that older people who consumed two cups of hot chocolate a day over a month’s time tested better on memory and thinking tests than seniors who didn’t drink the hot cocoa. Elder care news: 43% of adults over 65 who use the internet now use social media

A new report from Pew Internet & American Life Project shows that social media use among those over 65 has tripled since 2009. In 2009, only 13% of internet users over 65 reported using social media. The largest group to use social media is the 18-29 year-olds; 89% of this group uses social media. The older adults primarily use Facebook, in particular, to view photos of their families who live far away. It’s also a way to become reacquainted with old classmates and friends, and as a way to keep in touch with friends and family.
