
New Jersey Seniors: September is National Senior Center Month
With 10,000 boomers turning 65 each day, senior centers across the country are serving about a million older adults per day! These centers are a terrific community resource for seniors. They are places where people can remain social and make new friends, learn new skills, gain access to benefits, and can manage their health. Also important—people have FUN at senior centers! Dances, games, meals, exercising, bingo, and traveling are all examples of senior center activities.
This year’s theme is “Celebrate LIFE at Your Senior Center” and highlights how centers equip seniors to make choices that can enrich their lives and encourage them to become experts at celebrating LIFE (Learning, Independence, Friends, and Energy).
