What are your favorite Thanksgiving memories? For seniors, they can be bittersweet…

Making new memories helps seniors beat the blues

We all probably remember going to Grandma’s house for Thanksgiving dinner. Oh, the delicious aroma of pumpkin pie baking and turkey roasting! It was a time to gather with family–ones who lived both near and far. For many seniors, this can be a time of both joy and sadness as they remember “the good old days.” They find joy at seeing their young grandchildren as well as spending time with their adult children…joy of being together as a family again. But also sadness at remembering loved ones who have passed away or who are in facilities or homes far away.

We at Visiting Angels in NJ encourage you to help seniors with their blues by talking about the good times, and involve them in your holiday plans–dinners, parties and such. Help them create fantastic NEW memories that they can hold onto when they feel themselves sinking back into the blues!

Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at Visiting Angels!

  1. How Does Home Care Business Work…

Thank you! I sometimes find myself obsessing so much over the family situation, and getting so emotional and stressed, I end up not doing much of anything in my alone time (except watch tv!)… I’m hoping getting more in touch with my creativity again…
