Village groups and home modifications help people age in place…

Most of us want to age in place — stay in our own home as we age. With village groups, home modifications, and home care on the rise, it’s more possible than ever.

Village groups are typically comprised of volunteers who have been recruited by nonprofit groups and are geographically organized. These groups provide older adults services such as transportation, handymen, and technology. An annual fee of around $500 is typically charged.

Home modifications such as stair lifts, grab bars, ramps, wider hallways, touch faucets, etc. can all help elder adults remain at home longer.
