Field RN Wanted: Home Care Nurse, Per Diem

Mercer County, New Jersey

Visiting Angels has an immediate opening for a New Jersey Registered Nurse. Our RN is tasked with in-home non-medical visits to our clients throughout Mercer County. Our Mercer county clients live in Princeton, Ewing, Hamilton, Trenton, Robbinsville, East Windsor, Pennington, Lawrenceville, and in other communities throughout the county.

This part-time/per diem position is perfect for a retired RN, or one who desires flexible hours and enjoys meeting and talking with older adults.


Responsibilities include:

Setting appointments with Visiting Angels’ clients in their Mercer County homes during a regular Visiting Angels’ care shift; mileage is reimbursed per Company policy.

  • Creating in-home initial client assessments and care plans based on our clients’ specific care needs
  • Conducting follow-up in-home assessments at 60-day intervals
  • Revising care plans as necessary
  • Supervising our Company’s home care aides (CHHAs)

Qualifications include:

  • Current New Jersey Registered Nurse license
  • Prior RN experience with in-home care assessments preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communicator with strong interpersonal skills
  • Must be self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently
  • Able and willing to travel to clients’ homes throughout Mercer County
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a reliable car
  • Must have basic computer skills (email, scanning, faxing); Company will provide portable scanner
  • Ideal candidate resides in Mercer County
