every day with our Special Veterans Program

We thank all veterans and their families for their service and sacrifices. We are forever grateful!

Visiting Angels co-owners Rudy Tervooren and Nora de Cárdenas are pleased to offer a special Veterans Program for qualifying veterans and their widowed spouses.* This program is offered to clients in our NJ elder care service area, including these cities in Burlington county: Hainesport, Lumberton, Marlton, Medford, Moorestown, Mount Laurel, Palmyra, Riverton, Shamong, and surrounding areas. Our home care service area in Mercer county includes Allentown, Ewing, Hamilton, Hamilton Suare, Hopewell, Lambertville, Lawrenceville, Pennington, Princeton, Princeton Junction, Robbinsville, Skillman, Titusville, Trenton, and surrounding areas.

Highlights of this special program:

  • Home health care is provided at no out-of-pocket costs to veterans or veteran’s family
  • Expedited care–receive care within weeks instead of taking up to a year to be approved for the VA’s “Aid and Attendance” benefit

Qualifications:

  • Veterans must have served 90 days active duty (at least 1 day during wartime)
  • Veterans must be honorably discharged
  • Widowed spouse must have been married at the time of the veteran’s death, married at least 1 year, and had been living with the veteran at the time of death
  • Must meet financial household asset limitations
  • Must meet the Veterans Affairs’ “Low Income” provision

Estimated home health care benefits:

  • Up to 75 hours each month for home care to a married veteran
  • Up to 65 hours each month for a veteran who is single
  • Widowed spouses can receive up to 40 hours each month
