Angel Recipes: Delicious Angel Food Cake and Strawberries

Want to enjoy a heavenly dessert? Sliced strawberries over angel food cake is the perfect choice! Strawberries are free of saturated fat, sodium and cholesterol. They’re also good sources of fiber, Vitamin C, manganese, and potassium. Angel food cake is light, fat-free and heavenly tasting!

Angel Food Cake Ingredients

  • 10 egg whites
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1-1/3 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 1-1/2 cups sifted granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup cake flour, sifted several times
  • Strawberries, sliced


  • Beat egg whites
  • When frothy, add salt and cream of tartar
  • Beat until peaks form
  • Beat in gradually 1 cup of sugar
  • Add vanilla
  • In separate bowl, sift flour and 1/2 cup of the remaining sugar
  • Fold this flour/sugar mixture into the batter gently
  • Pour batter into ungreased 10-inch tube pan
  • Bake 325° for 55 to 60 minutes.
  • Remove pan from oven and turn upside down until completely cooled
  • Place sliced strawberries over cake and enjoy!
